Taught by a qualified teacher, these classes are designed to help non-English speaking community members. Low-cost and friendly class sizes, learn how to deal with every day situations, and cope with day-to-day living using the English language. Come along and meet new people from a variety ofl backgrounds.
Healthy Cooking On a Budget
Monday 23rd July for 8 weeks | 10.00am—12.30pm
This very popular course is specifically designed for those interested in learning about healthy eating on a budget or transferring skills to employment. This course will cover everything from safe food handling, food hygiene, kitchen basics, preparation techniques, extensive cooking skills, food storage and so much more. All new recipes for those following on. Please bring an apron if you have one and a container. Cost includes all ingredients and equipment.
First Aid (HLTAID002): Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (Level 1)

This one day course covers: Legislation, Legal Issues and Recording, Introduction to First Aid, Assessment Decision Making & Referral, Calling an Ambulance, Unconsciousness & Priorities of First Aid – DRSABCD, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Defibrillation, Asthma & Airway Obstruction, Anaphylaxis Management, Bleeding & Shock, Hygiene, Asthma Awareness, Anaphylaxis Awareness
Safe Food Handling (SITXFSA002): Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices
Friday 21st September | 9.00am – 4.00pm
This one day course provides the skills and knowledge required to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food. It applies to food handlers who directly handle food during the course of their daily work activities. This includes cooks, chefs, caterers, kitchen hands and food and beverage attendants.
Food handlers must comply with the requirements contained within the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
Advanced Computer Applications For the Workplace – The Next Step
Tuesday 24th July for 8 weeks | 10.00am—12.30pm
Cost: $50 (laptops provided or byo)
Prerequisite – must have completed the foundation course or and equivalent.
For a deeper dive into Microsoft Office and practical workplace skills such as following a brief, working on a project, collaboration, and presentation using computers, our course will help you gain more confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Getting to grips with some of the common features you may come across in the workplace.
