A basic guide to pickling, fermenting and preserving.
February is the time of the year where you have access to an abundance of beautiful fruits and vegetables. What to do with them ???
Our well known chef, Jodie Ballard will teach you how to easily make jams using a variety of food sources. Then move onto making different pickles and relishes. Finish in the last week learning the art of fermenting & the health benefits that fermented foods provide.
Please bring along an apron and 4 jars each week. All ingredients included.
Vegetarian & Vegan Cooking
Monday 8th February for 3 weeks | 7.00pm – 9.00pm
Cost: $55
During the 3 weeks of these workshops you will learn a variety of things; Including how to use vegetables, legumes, beans, spices, rices and different flours to make nourishing, delicious and beautiful dishes. Recipes will include savoury through to desserts.

Healthy Cooking On a Budget

Monday 1st February for 8 weeks | 10.00am – 12.30pm
Cost: $80
This very popular course is specifically designed for those interested in learning about healthy eating on a budget or transferring skills to employment. This course will cover everything from safe food handling, food hygiene, kitchen basics, preparation techniques, extensive cooking skills, food storage and so much more. All new recipes for those following on. Please bring an apron if you have one and a container. Cost includes all ingredients and equipment.

Herbs and Spices Workshop
Monday 1st March | 7.00pm – 9.00pm
Cost: $20
Using herbs and spices has enhanced the flavours of the world for centuries. Have you experimented yourself? Do you know when to use dried herbs rather than fresh? Why are certain spices used in different regions of the world? Learn how to add another dimension to your cooking to add flavour and excitement to everyday meals.

NDIS Cooking – Independent Living Skills
Every Wednesday – DATE TO BE ADVISED 8.30am – 12.30pm OR 1pm – 5pm
100 Mile Foodie work with NDIS participants to improve skills surrounding food preparation, meal planning, meal prepping and meal storage, all while experiencing new flavors, new recipes, cooking and the enjoyment of food. Make meals to enjoy during class and to take home!
